Ephrata 400K Brevet (ACP) 5/5/2018

For this year’s spring 400K we’re revisiting a route from 2009 that should prove challenging and quite scenic. We’ll be pedaling the quiet and dry (hopefully) back roads of eastern Washington, starting/ending in lovely Ephrata.

Ride Summary:

The course takes us through the Moses Coulee, then onto a short section of Hwy 2 to Farmer. We head north from Farmer and take the thrilling descent through McNeil Canyon to the Columbia River. Follow along the Columbia to Pateros where we turn and follow the Methow River Valley. Heading east, we’ll conquer Loup Loup pass at just over 4,000 ft. and descend into Okanagon and pass through beautiful Omak. From there we'll turn onto Columbia River Rd and pass by Omak Lake. The final leg of the loop heads south through Grand Coulee, passing along Banks, Lenore, and Soap Lakes back to Ephrata.

We will perform a safety check at the start to make sure everyone has primary and secondary front and rears lights, a reflective vest or sash, and reflective ankle bands. (Follow the RUSA reflectivity guidelines: https://rusa.org/reflectivity.)
